There's something about pulling my tatas out at work (yes though, in a private room, but still) that already makes pumping at work awkward.
There's forgetting my cooler at my desk, & having to walk through the office carrying my bags of milk. I try not to make eye contact with anyone, because while in my mind I'm like "hell yeah, just pumped 12 ounces" I'm sure others are more like "that really just comes from those like that?" Also, it probably gives them a vision I'd rather them not have.
But then.... there's washing my parts in the kitchen. The women usually make small talk that goes something like "so, how's the little one?"You wouldn't believe how many times I'll get that or "how old's your daughter now?" from the same person... every..week. "She's still 6 months old." But my male co workers, that's a whole other level. They either know exactly what is going on, or they don't, in which case, they're probably making assumptions in their heads on what's going on. The least awkward encounter I've had with a male coworker while washing my pump parts is when my co worker commented "ah, pumping, the wife hated that." THANK YOU! Like he didn't go too far, but far enough to not make it awkward & a slide nod to "you got this," subliminally of course.
& today, I had to use a smaller bottle than usual on one side because, who knows what the bottle gremlin did with all of them, and I over flowed all over my thigh!...cuteeee right?
