Around 4-5 Months Old, These are Perfect For Baby... & Parents!

There's not much to do with a baby as a new born. For me, Nicolina either liked to sleep in her bassinet, & to be held, or propped with her Boppy while awake. This made it hard for me to walk away while she was awake because I didn't like to leave her on her Boppy when I was out of the room & she hated being laid down in her bassinet while awake... because she must have had FOMO of what she was missing out on LOL!

While visiting with Maiya one day around when Nicolina was just shy of 4 months, Maiya brought out Naomi's Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat for Nicolina to try. We both LOVED it! It gave me the freedom to eat my lunch as we caught up with our best friend from out of town, & allowed her to sit up and feel included while giving her some toys to engage with!

This was right before Christmas & at this point Nicolina was holding her head up great, so I looked into getting one of these for my parents, since they watch her during the week. I purchased the Summer Infant 3-Stage Deluxe SuperSeat, Wild Safari for them and the Infantino Go GaGa Grow-With-Me Discovery Seat & Booster for at our house. I decided that 2 different ones would keep things interesting for Nicolina! We use these on the countertops so that the dogs can't be all up in her face (PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO THIS WITH FLOOR SEATS, THEY ARE MEANT FOR THE FLOOR SO BE CAUTIOUS AND DON'T WALK AWAY FROM YOUR L.O. I HAVE HEARD HORROR STORIES OF THEM LEANING TOO HARD ONE WAY AND THE SEAT & BABY FALLING). Both these chairs have the capabilities to be used as a booster seat/portable high chair for eating at the table, which is perfect for if we travel somewhere! This really was the start of having a little but more freedom and being able to get a few things done in the kitchen while Nicolina played right in front of me in her chair. My parents put her in theirs while their eating breakfast & lunch, so she feels like she's joining them!

For Christmas, my parents gifted us the Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Sit-to-Stand Activity Center, Spin 'n Play Safari which we actually kept at their house! We received another activity chair for Nicolina & thought it would be fun for my parents to be able to see her play in what they had purchased her! I like this activity chair for many reasons. It has a removable alligator piano that can be taken anywhere, attached blocks so she can throw them off, but still be able to pull back up, and place into their spot, as well as that when she outgrows it, has another piece that replaces the seat for another intractable toy that Nicolina can stand at to play! She also can turn herself very easy in this chair.

The other activity chair we got for Christmas was from Joe's uncle, the Go GaGa Sit, Spin & Stand Entertainer 360 Seat & Activity Table. We LOVE it! The toys are great, & different from her other chair, and the COOLEST part about this one, is that it collapses into a saucer! This is amazing! I've taken Nicolina up to my grandmas' as well as taking it to my in-laws & it's so easy to fold up and set up! Literally less than a minute! NO JOKE! I notice she doesn't turn herself in this chair as much as the other, so I'm not sure that maybe the track for the spinning chair part is as greatly engineered as the other? Also, the mat underneath (that keeps the chair together when folded up) has a cute little cardboard scene that inserts into the bottom, but the ink rubs off on her socks & feet! All-in-all, even with these cons, it's still a great activity chair for her!

Recently, my in-laws got Nicolina another activity chair, the Bright Starts Springin’ Safari Bounce A Round Entertainer but this one has a bounce pad. "Jumping" was her new favorite thing to do before they got this for her, so you can only imagine how much she loved it! She is so excited in this chair because there are so many things to do! She spins herself around so fast in it as though she's so busy & doesn't have time to talk. It's hilarious!

Joe & I love seeing her interact with all of these different activity chairs & love even more the freedom it gives us to be able to walk away knowing she's not getting into anything she shouldn't be! During a stressful morning, racing against the clock, I feel confident that she's contained to her chair while she's in the living room & I'm in the bathroom throwing on my makeup! This was life changing for me because it keeps her content and safe and me the ability to do a few things.

I would highly recommend a floor chair & and activity chair if your budget allows for both. This way you can switch it up for your little one, without them getting bored, and allows you to take the floor chair on the go! I had to take Nicolina to a hair appointment once because Joe was sick, so I just thew her floor chair in the car and she sat in it at the appointment! LIFE SAVER!
